Your Gut is the Key to Your Optimal Health!

Your nutrition, your immunity, your lack of toxicity and your overall health depends upon the health of your gastrointestinal tract. The key to Gut Health is to increase the amount of the "good guys" (good bacteria) in the bowel and to kill the "bad guys" (Yeast, Fungus, Viruses, Bad Bacteria & Parasites). When the "bad guys" take over, they wreak havoc in the body, ravaging your tissues with the harmful toxins they release.  This unfavorable environment in the gut is called Intestinal Dysbiosis. YEAST-X attacks the "bad guys", prevents their growth and promotes a healthy gastrointestinal tract.

Many factors contribute to Intestinal Dysbiosis including unhealthy diet, food allergies, lack of digestive enzymes, antibiotic overuse, birth control pills, immunosuppressive or chemotherapeutic medications, abdominal or pelvic radiation exposure, and physical or psychological stress.

Intestinal Dysbiosis has been scientifically linked to many acute and chronic illnesses. These include Irritable Bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, allergic Skin Rash, repeated urinary tract infections, and systemic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions.

Taking YEAST-X facilitates a successful biochemical shift from Intestinal Dysbiosis (a diseased environment) to Eubiosis (a healthy environment), through inhibition of the pathogenic fungal, viral and bacterial culprits.

        FOR DOCTORS

Intestinal dysbiosis is the winning battle by potentially pathogenic organisms, due to diminishing amounts of probiotic, beneficial microorganisms.  The toxins generated by these conquering invaders bring forth many diseases.  In fact, intestinal dysbiosis has been scientifically linked to acute and chronic illnesses such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, atopic dermatitis, recurrent urinary tract infections, and perhaps systemic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions.  Many factors contribute to intestinal dysbiosis including unhealthy diet, food allergies, antibiotic overuse, immunosuppressive or chemotherapeutic medications, exposure to abdominal or pelvic radiation, and physical or psycho- logical stress.  In addition to GOOD BACTERIA 30+BILLION + INULIN to provide probiotic & prebiotic support, the use of YEAST-X can facilitate a successful biochemical shift from dysbiosis to eubiosis, through inhibition of the pathogenic fungal, viral and bacterial culprits.

UNDECYLENIC ACID Calcium undecylenate Most organic fatty acids are fungicidal and have been used for centuries as antimicrobial agents, originally in the manufacture of soaps. In the last 50 years, however, they have found use both in vitro as yeast and mold inhibitors in food stuffs, and as topical and systemic antifungals, such as for dermato- phytoses such as tinea pedis (athlete’s foot).

Undecylenic acid (10-undecenoic acid) is an eleven-carbon monounsaturated fatty acid, C11H20O2. A substance found naturally in the body (occurring in sweat), undecylenic acid is produced commercially by the vacuum distillation of castor bean oil, via the pyrolysis of ricinoleic acid. It is an economical antifungal agent and is the active ingredient in many topical over-the-counter antifungal preparations.

Undecylenic acid inhibits cellular enzymes for lipid biosynthesis, affecting cytoplasmic pH to exert its antimycotic activity.  Candida albicans, a pathogen and the major cause of denture stomatitis, exhibits two exhibits two cellular morphologies. The round yeast form and elongated hyphae; the latter is associated with active infections.  An experiment examined the effect of denture liners on morphology.  Tests indicate that the addition of undecylenic acid inhibits the conversion of yeast cells to hyphae resulting in a reduced virulence.

Undecylenic acid has been shown to be approximately six times more effective as an antifungal than caprylic acid, and is effective in maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal and vaginal flora.  Calcium undecylenate provides the body with undecylenic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid that has been shown to be an effective antifungal agent. The calcium salt of the fatty acid is used as it is not as objectionable in taste or odour.
The calcium salt has been shown to be just as effective as the fatty acid itself at pHs below 7.

BERBERINE SULFATE  Berberine found in roots, rhizomes and stem bark or Goldenseal Hydrastis canadensis, Barberrry Berberis vulgaris, and Berberine sulfate are antimicrobial alkaloids, exhibiting broad spectrum effects against many microbes.  In vitro studies show Berberine’s activity against enteropathogenic Escherichia coli and Shigella boydii, the intestinal parasites Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia, and fungal organisms such as C. albicans.

Studies suggest Berberine’s actions to include interference with fungal proliferation via key enzymes, prevention of bacterial pathogens from adhering to host cells, inhibiting microbial toxin action and disruption of toxin synthesis within the microbes.  Modern research reiterated Berberine’s traditional use as antidiarrheals and tonics for mucous membranes, showing its inhibition of intestinal secretory response to toxin-producing organisms. Acute diarrhea treatment with Berberine has been investigated in several clinical trials.

Clearly, Berberine is a impressive botanical to normalize dysbiosis and gastrointestinal detoxification, through its activities against potentially pathogenic microbes and toxins intestinally.

BARBERRY Berberis vulgaris The German Commission E monograph states that Barberry root is used for ailments and complaints of the gastrointestinal tract. The root has been used to treat a variety of gastrointestinal disorders including diarrhea, indigestion and intestinal ulcers. The major constituent in the herb is berberine which has been administered in Chinese and Indian traditional medicine to treat gastrointestinal disorders.

GREEN TEA  Camellia sinensis  has proven antioxidant, cell protective and metabolic benefits widely found in medical literature and media.  Green Tea, strongest in the catechin polyphenol epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), also exhibits antimicrobial activity on a full array of pathogenic organisms, by disrupting microbial cell membranes, inhibiting microbial binding to host cells, inactivating or reducing microbial secretion of toxins, and triggering host defense mechanisms. Many in vitro and animal studies further demonstrate Green Tea and its polyphenolic constituents’ inhibition of pathogenic microbial activity that lead to food poisoning, diarrhea, gastritis, and ulcers.

One study clarified that Green Tea phenolic and metabolites strongly affected growth of only pathogenic organisms, such as Clostridium difficile, streptococcal and staphylococcal organisms, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella species.  Beneficial microbes such as probiotics, Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria were wholly unaffected.

Green tea has traditionally been used to treat flatulence and promote digestion. Recent studies have demonstrated Green Tea’s positive effects in the digestive tract.  Studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of Green Tea and Catechin administration in improving the intestinal conditions and reduction of fecal odors in humans and animals. Green Tea has also demonstrated to improve bowel movements in humans.

GOLDENSEAL Hydrastis canadensis is a perennial herb native to the northern and eastern forested regions of northern America.  Constituents found in the goldenseal root are alkaloids, amino acids, carbohydrates, phytosteroles, resin, and volatile oil. The main alkaloids are the phthalidisoquinoline alkaloid hydrastine and the quaternary protoberberine-type alkaloid berberine, which are well known for their antibacterial activity.

Goldenseal was traditionally used in North America by First Nations to treat inflammatory conditions including soothing of the digestive tracts. The NHPD monograph lists the ingredient as being used to alleviate infectious and inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract, as a bitter to aid digestion, to relieve digestive disturbances such as dyspepsia and as a mild laxative. All these actions support digestive health.

BETA-CAROTENE As per the NHPD monograph (November 2007), B-carotene is a used as a source of vitamin A to help maintain eyesight, skin, mucous membranes and immune function. Various epidemiological studies have shown an association between diets rich in carotenoids and a reduced incidence of many forms of cancer.  Antioxidant properties of these compounds are a causative factor. One specific carotenoid, beta-carotene, is highlighted in preventing cancer.  Numerous publications have described in vitro experiments and animal studies which suggest that not only can this carotenoid protect against the development of cancer, but also several other chronic diseases. Since the immune system plays a major role in cancer prevention, it has been suggested that beta-carotene may enhance immune cell function.
